With expanded capacity, state-of-the-art equipment, and strategic positioning, the new CFS facility in Edmonton marks a significant milestone while reinforcing the company’s commitment to leading innovation and growth in Canada's steel framing industry.

Expanding Our Capacity and Capabilities

Spanning approximately 42,000 sq ft, our new Edmonton facility is a significant step forward for CFS in Canada. This new space not only increases production capacity but also enhances operational efficiency, allowing us to deliver faster and more precise framing solutions while maintaining the quality we’ve built our reputation on.

This state-of-the-art space has been designed and modified to optimize our production processes and support our future growth, whether that involves additional team members, expanded inventory space, or new product offerings. With modern equipment and expanded logistical capabilities, CFS is poised to provide an unprecedented level of service and support to our clients across Western Canada and beyond.

Increased Processing Capacity

Two high-speed roll-forming machines, the plant can now produce 120,000 square feet of floor space each month.

Faster Assembly Times

Installation of 10,000 to 14,000 square feet of floor area per week, roughly twice the pace of traditional concrete or wood construction.

Enhanced Logistical Infrastructure

Equipped with multiple loading docks and strategically located near key transportation routes, this facility optimizes our logistical processes and enhances our responsiveness to project demands.

Responding to Industry Growth and Innovation

This expansion is perfectly timed with broader industry trends, including the rising demand for modular and prefabricated construction solutions throughout Canada. Developers and builders alike are increasingly embracing cold-formed steel for its advantages in speed, precision, and durability. With the opening of this new facility, we’re set to align with current and upcoming construction trends.

Some modular and prefab trends in Western Canada include:

  • Faster project timelines driven by off-site manufacturing
  • Improved site safety requirements and reduced on-site labour requirements
  • Significant reductions in on-site waste production and increased awareness of environmental impacts
  • Increased adoption of alternative materials in residential, healthcare, hospitality, and commercial projects.

The strategic location of this facility aligns well with Alberta’s rapidly growing industrial and economic development, particularly in the construction and infrastructure sectors. According to recent reports and forecasts, Alberta’s construction sector is expected to experience sustained growth over the next decade to accommodate a steadily growing population, urban expansion, and infrastructure modernization. We’re truly excited to support this future of growth and opportunity.

Our Edmonton facility is both an operational advancement and a statement of purpose. It signifies our ongoing commitment to shaping the future of the Canadian construction industry through stronger structures backed by innovation, quality, and reliability in every detail.

As Canada continues to grow, so does the demand for smarter, stronger, and safer solutions. CFS is equipped and confidently positioned to meet these demands head-on, showcasing the strength of steel in every application.
