Forest Park Hotel
The Forest Park Hotel expansion in Jasper National Park is the first major hotel addition in the area in over 40 years. For this project, we delivered a precision-engineered prefabricated steel superstructure, including a technically complex dormer roof system engineered for alpine conditions.

Background
Developed by Pursuit, the Forest Park Hotel expansion blends luxury alpine architecture with modern construction innovation. This boutique mountain hotel adds 88 high-end suites (80 of which include kitchenettes and private balconies or patios) alongside vaulted ceilings, natural materials, and sweeping mountain views. Located on the north edge of Jasper, the project was executed in a remote location with challenging weather conditions that demanded precision, durability, and speed without compromising architectural vision.
General Challenges
- Complex roof geometry with intersecting slopes and multiple dormers.
- Building in a remote, high-altitude environment with limited construction windows.
- Meeting strict snow-load and wind-uplift structural requirements.
- Complying with Parks Canada’s design and environmental standards.

Delivering Certainty in Complex Alpine Conditions
We engineered and supplied a full prefabricated steel superstructure, including wall panels, pre-assembled floor cassettes, and a custom-designed, dormer-based roof system. This off-site approach enabled the project team to meet challenging design requirements while accelerating construction in a climate with short building seasons.
A Custom Roof System
To ensure reliable strength, we created a unique roof with multiple dormers, vaulted ceilings, and intersecting slopes.
Fast-Tracked Build
Through off-site fabrication, we significantly reduced conventional weather delays in a cold mountain climate.
Built to Last
Through engineered structural performance, this building is designed to withstand high snow loads, wind uplift, and long-term use.
