Forest Park Hotel

The Forest Park Hotel expansion in Jasper National Park is the first major hotel addition in the area in over 40 years. For this project, we delivered a precision-engineered prefabricated steel superstructure, including a technically complex dormer roof system engineered for alpine conditions.

Background

Developed by Pursuit, the Forest Park Hotel expansion blends luxury alpine architecture with modern construction innovation. This boutique mountain hotel adds 88 high-end suites (80 of which include kitchenettes and private balconies or patios) alongside vaulted ceilings, natural materials, and sweeping mountain views. Located on the north edge of Jasper, the project was executed in a remote location with challenging weather conditions that demanded precision, durability, and speed without compromising architectural vision.

General Challenges

  • Complex roof geometry with intersecting slopes and multiple dormers.
  • Building in a remote, high-altitude environment with limited construction windows.
  • Meeting strict snow-load and wind-uplift structural requirements.
  • Complying with Parks Canada’s design and environmental standards.
